Fed: No vet crisis but calls for vet reserve to police diseases

CANBERRA, Feb 4 AAP - Rural Australia would avoid a vet shortage crisis but a new reporttoday called for the creation of a veterinary reserve to tackle national animal healthcrises.
Report author Peter Frawley, commissioned last year by the federal government to examinethe veterinary industry, found the number of vets in the bush had actually doubled inthe past 20 years.
But he found that in remote areas there were signs of vets following other professionalsin deserting small communities in favour of larger cities.
