Bartenbach is Editor of Ei Village; Company Also Adds Three to New Sales Posts.

HOBOKEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 1996--Engineering Information Inc. (Ei) has announced the appointment of Bill Bartenbach to the new position of Director, Village Content, for Engineering Information Village(TM), and the addition to the Ei staff of three new members to fill new sales director posts: Richard Hollis as Director, Ei Europe; Mike Reid as Director, National Accounts; and Mike Kill as Director, Corporate and Professional Sales. Mr. Bartenbach, who joined the Company in 1990 as Director of Special Projects and moved on to become Director of Library Relations, most recently served as the Company's first Managing Director of Ei Europe, a role he assumed in 1994 when Ei committed to the expansion of that market. He brings over 20 years of electronic publishing management experience to his new position.

Before joining Ei, Mr. Bartenbach was Vice President and Director of Publications for the Foundation Center and during his career also held management positions at the H.W. Wilson Company and Public Affairs Information Service (PAIS). He holds a Master's degree in library science from the University of Denver and has served as President of ASIDIC (the Association of Information and Dissemination Centers), on the board of NISO (the National Information Standards Organization) and as Chair of the Information Technology Division of Special Libraries Association. He is also an active member of ASIS, ALA and IFLA. In his new position, Mr. Bartenbach reports to Eric Wm. Johnson, Executive Vice President of Ei.

Mr. Bartenbach's sales responsibilities in Ei Europe have been assumed by Richard Hollis, who comes to the Company after serving as Managing Director of Ovid Technologies Ltd., with responsibility for Ovid software and database sales in the UK, Ireland, Africa and the Middle East. Prior to that he held sales positions with Bowker-Saur, Lexis and the British Library. Mr. Hollis holds a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Sheffield and has recently completed an MBA program with the Open University Business School. He reports to Ei President and CEO, Dr. John J. Regazzi, and is based at the Company's new Ei Europe headquarters location, 1 Stonecross, St. Albans, Herts. AL1 4AA, UK.

Ei's new Director, National Accounts comes to the Company from 7 years at Knight Ridder Information Services, Inc., where he served as Product Marketing Manager and most recently, as Director, Product Management, in which role he developed and executed overall strategies and business plans for Sci-Tech, General Reference and Health CDROM product lines, with responsibility for development, marketing and sales of 30 of the CDROM group's 65 products. Prior to joining KRI Mr. Reid was a partner in V-Channel and a national account manager at Speech Plus. Both companies developed voice processing systems for the telecommunication industry. Mr. Reid also served as Planning Manager in the Strategic Planning group at GTE of California. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Berkeley.

With over 15 years of involvement in the creation, marketing and sales of print, CDROM and electronic information services, Mike Kill joined Ei in July, 1996. His most recent position prior to that was as Regional Director for NERAC, a spinoff from NASA, where he was responsible for the sale of interactive technology transfer to Biotechnology, Electronics, Environmental and Engineering consulting firms in Northern California. Previously, as president of The Resource, he produced an updated CDROM database of State Environmental Laws and Regulations. Mr. Kill has also held other sales positions serving legal, corporate, accounting and human resources professionals in the public and private sectors. At Ei he is responsible for the sale of Ei products and services into professional markets, including corporations without libraries. Mr. Kill holds a degree in Philosophy from Duns Scotus College. Both Mr. Reid and Mr. Kill report to Steve Moss, Ei Vice President, Sales.
